Adoro il suo stile compositivo e esecutivo, sia con il Pat Metheny Group che da solo. È per me fonte di grande ispirazione, anche se ho sempre l’impressione di essere un bambino che ai primi rudimenti di pianoforte, guarda estasiato il maestro suonare, sapendo che sarà impossibile eguagliarlo.
È una vera perdita, avrebbe potuto scrivere tanta altra splendida musica, per la gioia delle nostre orecchie e del nostro cuore. Peccato se ne sia andato così presto. R.I.P.

Una triste realtà. Il povero Lyle Mays riposerà in pace e noi, finché ci saremo, continueremo a beccarci imbarazzanti siparietti di presunti musicisti spinti dalle case discografiche perché "personaggi".
